We decided to take some Wild West photos while in town. Alex and Adam had so much fun they wanted to do it again…
Day #8
Up at 6am to get into the park to see the animals at their best. We saw 416 bison (Alex was our counter). One walked no more than 4ft from our van… cool… We then drove over the the Lower Falls for a short hike then drove to Idaho Falls for the night.
Day #7
We woke up early to hit the road to Yellowstone. We spent the entire day in the park and drove to Gardiner, Montana for the night.
Day #6
We started the day off with a little shopping around town. We had a family ‘Ol West photo taken (I’ll post that later). The boys bought some guns (of course). We then headed up Snow King Mountain for some trips down the alpine slide. We finished the day with a short drive and dinner with my aunt and uncle.
Day #5
We started Day 5 with a little extra sleep, then a trip to the County Courthouse where my aunt is the law clerk. Very cool place. The judge was nice enough to let the boys sit at her bench. After a quick sandwich at the New York Sub Shop we’re off for a 4 hour tour of Jackson Lake (yes a 4 hour tour…) Alex spent many of those hours at the wheel while Adam was chief navigator. Heidi played Ginger and just looked good. I was boat weight for the wind… : (
Day #4
Sorry for the delay in getting these posted. I underestimated how late we’d be out at night and how tired we’d all be. Day 4 was our scenic float trip down the snake river. We saw 14 bald eagles, Uma Thurman’s house and Tiger Woods new pad. We topped off the day with a little fishing at Fish Creek.
Day #3
First full day in WY! We took a hike to Phelps Lake where the boys fell in love with rock climbing and sticks.
Day #2
We arrive in Jackson in time for some dinner and a quick fishing trip out the back door.
Day #1
A ten hour drive… The kids did really well though. Only a few “how much longers…”
